Inspired by Purapura Whetu design refers to star seeds and Ika-o-te-rangi. This pou whenua represents Te Pōrūrū and Te Aorūrū the sheltered darkness and light. Filmed on Tangi-te-keo looking down towards Te Aro this work acknowledges a favourite origin story of the Taniwha who lived in the harbour.
This work acknowledges the depth of layered story past, present and future that continue to elevate and enrich our everyday lives.
